REPLAY
Death is not death in virtual reality. Nothing is final, everything is changeable. While the competitive nature of the game asks players to complete a mission quickly and effectively, a player can always start the game over if they ‘fail.’ Failure is not permanent, it is merely a set-back.
Thus, games create a world where consequences are simply a new beginning.
Mircea Eliade, American philosopher and historian of comparative religion, said “no event is is irreversible and no transformation is final.” He said, in reality, nothing new happens in the world — “everything is but the repetition of the same primordial archetypes.”
